Get accessible and personalized mental healthcare in-person or from the comfort of your home.
Whether your child is facing behavioral challenges at school, at home, or in the community, your family is navigating a complex system, or you are adapting to a significant life transition, you do not have to face these challenges alone.
For more than 25 years, I have been dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, professionalism, and practical support. I believe meaningful change begins with hope and grows through understanding, support, and connection.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals and families feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we can work through life’s challenges, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create a path toward healing and personal growth.
No matter where you are in your journey, hope is possible, healing can happen, and positive change can begin.
My Approach
I believe meaningful change happens through connection, support, and practical action. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and relationship-centered, helping individuals and families navigate challenges, build resilience, and create lasting positive change.
Trauma-Informed Care
I recognize the impact that trauma, loss, stress, and life transitions can have on emotional well-being and relationships. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where healing can occur.
Strengths-Based Practice
Every individual and family has strengths. Together, we identify and build on those strengths to support growth, confidence, and success.
Collaboration and Partnership
Therapy is a collaborative process. I work alongside clients, families, caregivers, and, when appropriate, other professionals to support meaningful and lasting outcomes.
Evidence-Based Care
Services are grounded in research and may include evidence-based approaches such as TF-CBT, AF-CBT, and PSB-CBT, tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
My Goal
My goal is to help individuals and families strengthen relationships, overcome challenges, build resilience, and move forward with hope and confidence.
Collaboration is key to successful therapy. I work closely with families to address dynamics that impact their emotional well-being, ensuring that each member feels supported and heard. Through personalized therapy and coaching, I empower clients to navigate life’s challenges with confidence, fostering lasting positive change and overall well-being.
For more than 25 years, I have been dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, professionalism, and practical support. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Troy University and my Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama.
My professional journey began in Adult Protective Services, where I worked with vulnerable adults experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other complex life circumstances. This experience provided a strong foundation in advocacy, crisis intervention, and helping individuals navigate difficult situations.
I later transitioned into medical social work, supporting individuals and families as they adjusted to chronic illness, significant medical diagnoses, and healthcare-related challenges. These experiences broadened my understanding of the emotional, social, and practical needs individuals face during times of uncertainty and change.
Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse range of populations, including children, adolescents, older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those living with HIV/AIDS and chronic medical conditions. My experience includes supporting individuals through trauma recovery, grief and loss, family challenges, life transitions, and emotional adjustment during difficult periods of life.
Recognizing the impact of trauma, attachment disruptions, family stressors, and life experiences on emotional well-being, I expanded my practice to provide specialized services for youth and family systems.
My specialized training includes Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) through the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.), certification as a Certified Therapist for Adolescents with Problematic Sexual Behaviors (CTAPSB), and approval as a Department of Youth Services (DYS) Provider.
In addition to psychotherapy services, I provide Adoption Home Studies, Psychosexual Assessments, and Court-Ordered Assessments and Evaluations.
Whether serving as a therapist, evaluator, or advocate, I am committed to providing services that are ethical, thorough, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual and family. My goal is to help people heal, strengthen relationships, build resilience, and move forward with confidence, hope, and purpose.
